blessed

October 15, 2023

There was only one thing on my mind this morning, and that was getting to the beach.

I walked down Oma'o Street past a half of a dozen houses, across Kalaheo Avenue, down the beach access path....and this is what opened up to me and filled my senses....and my heart quickened in my chest as my footsteps quickened, too....even after nearly 20 years....

I dropped my towel and my bag and walked intentionally to where the sea and the sky and the sand meet....waded into the warmmmmmmmmmmmm soothing water....thanked Jesus for the ocean, the sunshine, the warmth, the beauty....

I heard myself thanking Him for bringing me here, for my cottage near here, for my ability to walk here, to swim here, for my body, my mind, my health, my healing...

That I know Him, for Him coming into my life and my heart...

For my family, my loved ones....

For food, for shelter, for everything that I need...

For five million blessings.......

I swam from here to Flags, mostly breaststroke...a leisurely swim....and back....alive & kicking....literally....

Rested under a palm tree....

Swam some more....chatted with Chris and then with Joannie....walked home....

Grateful for a quiet day....serenity.....warm water in which to swim....grateful....grateful...grateful....

Bonus:  a friendly honu joined me for a little bit...
